So lovely Juliette! Your retreat looked absolutely amazing! I totally get that feeling when returning to the studio. I am still on my own decluttering journey in my Spanish one! Now back in the UK and ready to be in my garden studio which feels like its outside, so I feel more grounded in my bare feet as I walk out often to work on my veggie garden and walk on the grass into my mums backdoor. I think just a mindful approach to slowing down, being in nature helps me feel grounded also. Hope your summer is wonderful! xx

That’s beautiful, Louise! I’ve always thought the view from your Spanish studio looked amazing and now your garden studio looks so sweet too! Very different energies but if the same heart and perfect for flow! I love going from my outdoor studio to the flower garden, for a walk, to sitting in the hammock. Getting back into that flow and letting go of what no longer works!

My studio is in dire need of tidying. I start, then find cool scraps as I pick up and it becomes creative time. Getting it all squared away will ground me, as does filling my visual library through other activities.

It sounds like you have a great flow though too! Sometimes that’s so much better than any clean up! Just allowing yourself to flow ✨💛

For me grounding looks like listening to a Reiki video on YouTube, while I journal stretch have some tea and just start my day

That’s such a wonderful way to start the day! I studied reiki when I was younger and wasn’t aware there’s videos on YouTube. Journaling while listening to a meditation has also been my grounded morning routine 💛

Sometimes, that is just what it takes. A change of location or a rearranging of space. I recently rearranged by office studio space. I wanted my laptop to have a home instead of being shuffled around all the time. I got that and freed up the space on my desk for creative work while having my computer available when needed. I enjoyed this post. Thank you, Juliette!

That’s exactly it! I thought I needed it to be my studio and then that led me to create an outdoor studio that is bringing so much creativity and happiness! I’ll have to think about my laptop… I haven’t done work work in my outdoor studio but it may be inspiring for that too.

As a kid I used to use my parent's backyard as my studio all of the time. I love being in nature, but lately, I only paint outside when it involves something like spray paint. I am going to do it more.

Definitely do it more! Especially if it was your thing as a child. It’s like I have this safe space to go to now. Not that my studio and all wasn’t safe before, but somehow this outdoor studio, being set up and inviting, is letting my inner child find freedom and calm 💕

I absolutely love how you took your cue from sweet Robin. Honoring both of you and what you both needed. Animals are so very amazing in this way. They too, are so often what grounds me. I find so much calm and joy just being able to observe them and being in their presence. And actually, they truly do inspire everything that I do and am! xo

Yes! I can see that in your presence and all you do, Barb! So beautiful! Nature and being out in nature has been an important part of my creativity since I was a little girl. I used to go into the woods beside our house and build forts and little houses and make up my own worlds with lots of horses 🐎

I love the little girl imagery you painted of your time in the woods. xo

Thank you! It’s definitely my inner child needing to come out and be seen right now 💛✨ That’s been a theme lately and I’m listening.

Great post. Sometimes it just takes one simple change to unblock your creativity!

And I wish it would just stay at one change! I find I need to consistently shift things to remain unblocked 🌞 It’s like a video game and I’m moving up a level, again and again 💕

This is a supportive reminder that I can simply begin...or begin again. Lately, I've been keeping grounded by listening to Alan Watts, Ram Dass, and Rupert Spira so I can approach life with greater awareness and be aligned with the way of things/nature. This helps me not to forget who I truly am in the midst of it all.

That’s beautiful! I’m always looking for new ways to shift into that expanded awareness. Creating in nature and having a designated space has definitely shifted my creativity into a new level. I’m excited to listen to what you’ve shared too 💛✨🌞
