Such a good reminder. I feel like the most important things in my life found me by chance. I never "forced" any of them. I'm so envious you get to go to France and paint! My daughter asked me to learn French alongside her so we can go to France together. I would love to do a retreat one day. It sounds magical.
I hope you get to go to France with your daughter! I’ve been learning French this past year on Duolingo. It’s been a fun stretch. And even the way teaching this retreat fell into place… it was another thing that found me 💛✨
I’m on 111 day streak in Duolingo. 😊 French is not easy. I love that the opportunity found you. Those are the best. Where it feels like you are right where you are supposed to be. ✨
Yes! I have been trying to redirect, following my joy and remembering to let go, to realign with that feeling again ✨ I love getting those notes to know my Duolingo streak!
Here from K.L. Your paintings are adorable Juliette! How exciting for France. You will fall in love. Your story resonates with me—I have been thinking much about protecting my time for art and writing, allowing for mistakes as you say, and happy accidents as Bob Ross said. Thanks for the freebie courses. 😊
I love that! It’s wonderful to connect with you Maureen! I always feel so much better when I allow for that time and have been taking a few minutes in the morning to paint or doodle in my sketchbook. So often my inner critic steps in and says it’s worthless, but I think that time really opens us up not just to creating in that moment but creating in all of life and living a better life. ❤️❤️❤️
Yes, its wonderful to connect here Juliette. I started watching your mixed media workshop, and realized quickly that I have none of the tools in my tool kit because I am currently only working with ink and watercolor, a bit of collage. But I’m keen to try some whimsical characters and so I’m going to stick with it and see what happens! xo
Excited to see where it takes you! In case you haven’t seen it yet, you can also try this free workshop and use just inks and watercolors instead of the drawing matériels (but you might have fun combining some of those as well): https://courses.juliettecrane.com/freeclass_loosenup
I do have been before but it's almost 25 years ago! The 11th arrondissement and Le Marais which is close are really nice and still trending 20 years later!
So lovely and such a good reminder to let go and be open to what life has in store for us - it is rarely what we think or plan and things do certainly work out in ways we could never have imagined 💗 I hope you have a wonderful time in France - we are currently experiencing a mini-heatwave so fingers crossed you see some good weather on your trip.
Thank you so much! It’s funny how so many have said exactly that—it’s the unplanned experiences that have often held the most resonance in a lifetime. It’s something I am going to keep coming back to and reminding myself of, especially in this time of change 💛✨
I’m on the brink of change in my life at this very moment and you’re so right about life being like art. We need to let things happen as they’re meant to be. Have a great time in Paris, sounds lovely!😊
I feel you as you’re in you brink of change. I have so many life events right now that feel like puzzle pieces or continents, I’m slowly patiently waiting to click into place as I watch them move forward like chess pieces. Will share lots of photos from France!

Fabulous! I’ll be sure to watch for it!
And I will arrive in Paris the 22nd!! Wishing you all the best with your retreat!
Le Marais is what so many have recommended. I will definitely make a point to visit and explore!
That’s amazing! Wishing you an amazing trip! I’m not sure if you’ve been there before, but if you’ve any recommendations, please let me know ✨💛
