Join me for a special live painting session: Saturday, March 1st | 2–4:15 PM EST.
The very first time I taught an online class, back in 2010, it was magical—because I finally had a way to connect with you and answer your questions in real time. That’s what I want this to be—a space to share, create, and connect with a community of like-minded souls who love to paint and explore creativity.
In this live class, I’ll take you step by step through my creative process, sharing the tips and techniques I’ve developed over the past fifteen years. We’ll start with a look inside my sketchbooks and mixed media paintings, where I’ll show you how I gather inspiration and loosen up before painting. Then, I’ll guide you through a full demo, letting go, playing with color, and bringing a piece to life.
Every painting begins with curiosity, and I’ll share the full process—including trial and error—so you can see how a piece evolves.
You’ll be able to paint along with me, and I can’t wait to see what you create!
You don’t need anything fancy—just a sketchbook and some watercolors, or even loose sheets of paper and whatever paints or pencils you have on hand.
📜 A supply list and inspiration images will be sent in advance.
🎥 If you can’t make it live, you’ll receive the class replay within a week.
I wanted to keep this Zoom class donation-based to make it accessible to everyone. Please keep in mind that I work hard to give you beautiful classes, so I appreciate that those of you who can afford to pay more will do so, and this helps those who can afford less.
I suggest a minimum donation of $25, but I understand that may not be possible for everyone.
I’ve spent weeks experimenting with colors, sketches, and compositions to create a demo that feels both exciting and accessible. I originally planned to paint women in watercolor, but after hearing from many of you, I’ve decided to incorporate mixed media as well—so you’ll see firsthand how I build layers and bring depth to my work. It’s a chance to witness how I take inspiration from past paintings, everyday surroundings, and unexpected moments to shape something uniquely mine.
This is one of the paintings that I completed over the last few weeks. She’s called ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ 30x40” - she was part of my experiments for what to demo duing the live gathering. For this piece I used a combination of spray paint, acrylics, inks, watercolors, pencil, and pen.
Every painting I create evolves naturally, with colors and movements shifting in surprising ways with each layer. This piece sat unfinished in my studio for almost two years. I loved the face and eyes but couldn’t quite get the background or her body right. Finally, with just a few subtle color changes and new marks, I found the flow—and everything fell into place.
I’d love to see you in class on March 1st! Let’s make something beautiful together.
And if you’re longing for an even deeper creative immersion, I still have five spots left in my France Retreat this May 2025—a week of painting, color exploration, and connection in a breathtaking setting. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
Happy painting!
With love and gratitude,
xo Juliette
Beautiful Juliette I love your marks and textures so much! I seem to have the song from the band Journey in my head now, Don't Stop Believing!🥰
