Hello Friends!
I’m sitting in my studio, listening to the cranes and geese calling out from the farm fields to the west as I sip my morning coffee. Paintings are drying around me, their wet surfaces reflecting the passing clouds like mirrors.
Creating is one of the things I know I can always return to for grounding when everything else feels crazy and chaotic. Even just a few minutes of dripping color or watercoloring in my sketchbook brings me a sense of calm.
Lately, I’ve also been stopping to smell the roses—literally.
My husband got me flowers for my birthday last weekend, and every time I pass by, I pause to smell a bloom or admire the vibrant hot pink petals. It instantly brings me back to the present moment.
That presence is essential if I’m going to put any heart into my artwork.
If you ever worry about how to spark your creativity or stay motivated, I shared my own journey—including how I got started and how I’ve pivoted my art and business over the past 15 years—in this podcast interview with She DESIGNS.
Listen and then please share with a friend. I hope my journey to becoming a full-time artist, doing the work I love, inspires you!
In case you haven’t seen it yet, I’ve also put together a monthly subscription to my classes called The School Of Happy Painting Membership.
Here’s what Stephanie had to say about classes in The School Of Happy Painting Membership:
“Starting was a big milestone for me but once I did it became my savior! I’d say that if anyone out there is looking for an online class that gets you just ‘doing’ instead of ‘thinking’ this is the one for you. At last I’ve found the style of art that I absolutely love and even though I can’t draw for peanuts I’ve been happy with the pieces that I’ve created – thanks to the amazing guidance of Juliette who has the most lovely teaching style.” – Stephanie B.
If you’ve been curious about the membership, I have extended registration until January 15th, so you can still get the special pricing after the holidays by clicking here.
I can’t wait to see you in the membership and community! Sending lots of love and wishing you a beautiful holiday season!
Love, Juliette

If you follow the wheel of the year, the middle of winter is the solstice. The start of winter is right after samhain, which is, then, 1 November.
Happy Holidays to you and your family. You are an ongoing inspiration and may 2025 be your most creative yet!
